Fancy a smartphone for your everyday needs? But need something also stylish and practical? These are all variables tackled once by Haier Phones!
All About Haier (and its Mobile Division)
In what was once thought to be a promising move, Haier decided to verge into smartphone production during the early 2000’s.
Originally known to be a giant among multinational consumer electronic products and various home appliances, the decision to try and tap into the smartphone industry was because of the company’s interest in the Internet of Things (IOT), which was supposed to be rolled-out last 2015.
The idea seemed sound, considering that Haier does have a large line of various products that can be integrated with the technology. Imagine this – smart devices can communicate with each other, giving some much-needed convenience for consumers.
However, for reasons undisclosed (depending on the narrative, may perhaps be related to the issue brought up by German local media of Haier smartphone devices to be pre-installed with pesky malware), the brand slowly pulled out its products from the market.
The last remnants of smartphone products released by the brand was late last year.

With not so much information that can be gleamed online, we do hope that the company does decide to bring back its smart mobile division back. Haier’s devices were once thought to be innovative and reliable smartphones!
Haier Mobile Devices
It may be a yesteryear wonder, but the brand did seem to show so much promise. As such, we’d like to share some of its smartphone releases (we do hope that the brand decides to venture into this industry again!).
Released last 2016, this Haier smartphone is powered by an Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It’s a practical phone to have, given that it only has 1 GB of RAM and a memory storage capacity of 8 GB.
In terms of size, the L55 isn’t a bulky option. It weighs light (since it’s body is made out of plastic). Size dimensions are at 72.3 mm (width) x 143.0 mm (height) x 8.2 mm (depth). The screen size is 5 inches long.
Speaking more about the screen, the L55 integrated the use of then-innovative LCD IPS technology. This resulted in clear and crisp image. For camera, the L55 went with an 8 Mpx rear camera.
The L55 uses an ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-Core for power.
A step up from the L55, the Haier L56 offers basic smartphone features while still retaining an affordable price tag.
This smartphones has a 2 GB RAM capacity. The model can manage memory storage of up to 16 GB.
The L56 integrates the use of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Standard colors that one can request for this model is gray and gold. Additionally, the smartphones has a capable design for users young and old. At 80.0 mm (width) x 143.0 mm (height) x 7.9 mm (depth), it definitely fits your hand!
This device also has an ARM Mali-T720 MP4 graphics card. Coupled with the smart mobile phone’s built-in 13 mpx camera, you are assured that you will be able to take excellent shots!
For another cost-efficient device, the Haier L52 is a good product to consider.
At just 72.6 mm (width) x 144.0 mm (height) x 9.8 mm (depth), and a net weight of only 150 g, this is a good smartphone to carry around and fit into your pocket.
This device has an ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-Core. For images, the L52 has an ARM Mali-T720 MP4 graphics card. A simple camera is also used for this phone – a 5 mpx camera is used for this model.
A highlight on its very own (since there may be no other smartphone like this one!), the Haier Black Pearl is considered the world’s smallest MP3 smartphone.
Aptly named for its smooth and dark finish, and just as large (or small) as a lipstick, this device is actually functional. Yet more than a fashion accessory, Haier originally wanted to set the standard that there is more to being small – and this is why the Black Pearl was pushed to be a luxury product!
Some of this smartphone’s capabilities are as follows:
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Built-in MP3 player
- FM Stereo player
- Voice Recorder function
Memory can be expanded in the device up to 1 GB (via the Trans-Flash slot). It may be small – but the appeal is still there for the Black Pearl.

Released just last year, the Haier Hurricane may very well be one of the last devices to be produced by the brand.
The Hurricane runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Granted that the brand tried its best to be consistent, this device also makes use of the unique IPS technology. Which, of course, results to clear and clean images.
Memory management is at par with its contemporary counterparts. The Hurricane has 2 GB RAM, while internal memory storage is at 16 GB.
For camera usage, the Hurricane is equipped with an 8 MP front camera. The rear camera has a 13 MP rating classification. Extra features on the phone focus on security (it has a fingerprint lock) and a proximity sensor.
It’s a capable phone that we would have wanted more for in the future!

Considered as well as being part of one of the brand’s latest (and probably, last) releases, the Haier Alpha A7 is an outstanding model that could have worked if circumstances were different.
Running on Android 8.1 Oreo OS, this device also integrates the unique IPS tech that Haier is known for. It’s built-in CPU is a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53, offering a fast way to process information and the like.
RAM is at 2 GB, with internal memory storage set at 16 GB. For camera, the selfie lens is at 8 MP. The main lens comes with a combination of 31 + 2 MP stats, offering a unique take on capturing images.
We really wanted the best for Haier phones. But who knows what the future holds, right?
